Agbani Outreach

Agbani Community, Enugu State

The Agbani outreach held on Friday 13th of October 2017 at Agbani community in Enugu state. It was organized by the community who partnered with Pro-Sight International to provide eye care.

A total of 161 people (107 Females and 54 Males) were screened. Glasses and Drugs were distributed to beneficiaries as recommended by the doctors.

  • 49 people had Glaucoma (24 were suspects)
  • 40 people had Cataract (21 had Immature Cataract)
  • 35 people had Presbyopia
  • 33 people had Allergic conjunctivitis
  • 16 people had Pterygium
  • 12 people had Refractive Error
  • 6 people were diagnosed with Pseudophakia
  • 3 people each were Maculopathy and Eye Lens Obsolescence

Messiah House Outreach

The Messiah House Int'l Church, Aggrey road, Port Harcourt

The aim of the outreach was to provide eye screening for 50 people which includes: identifying people with eye disorders, detecting and treating cases of eye diseases such as Pterygium, Glaucoma, and other ophthalmic disorders; and to prescribe and provide glasses for correction of refractive errors.

A total of 76 persons (34 males and 42 females) were screened by our team of doctors. 17 persons were diagnosed with refractive error, 11 persons were diagnosed with allergic conjunctivitis while 2 had bacterial conjunctivitis, 13 had presbyopia, 2 had glaucoma and 3 were glaucoma suspects, 3 had pterygium and 3 had cataract. Most of the beneficiaries were treated at the venue with drugs and glasses dispensed. A few referrals were given for further examination and evaluation including 4 persons who would require surgery.

TKA Outreach

The Kings Assembly, Port Harcourt, Rivers State

The outreach was organized by the church who partnered with Pro-Sight International to provide eye care for 150 people.

168 people (110 Females and 58 Males) were screened. Glasses and Drugs were distributed to beneficiaries as recommended by the doctors.

  • 85 people had Refractive error
  • 53 people had Allergic conjunctivitis
  • 35 people had Presbyopia
  • 19 people were Glaucoma suspects
  • 5 people had Pterygium
  • 4 people had Glaucoma
  • 3 people had Cataract

TREM Outreach

South-South Zonal Headquarters, Port Harcourt, Rivers State

The Redeemed Evangelical Mission (TREM) outreach was organized by the church who partnered with Pro-Sight International to provide eye care for 150 people.

142 people (101 Females and 41 Males) were screened. Glasses and Drugs were distributed as recommended by the doctors.

  • 70 people had Refractive error
  • 61 people had Presbyopia
  • 12 people were Glaucoma suspects
  • 11 had Bilateral immature Cataract
  • 4 people had Pterygium
  • 4 people had Glaucoma
  • 3 people had Bilateral Cataract
  • 2 people had Eye Lens Obsolescence (ELO)
  • 2 people had glares
  • 1 person had Extropia and another had Ptosis

RCCG Women Outreach

RCCG City of Joy, Port Harcourt, Rivers State

The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) women outreach was organized by Redeemers Women of City of Joy Parish who partnered with Pro-Sight International to provide eye care for 50 people.

93 people (86 Females and 7 Males) were screened. Glasses and Drugs were distributed to beneficiaries as recommended by the doctors. Out of the 93 screened:

  • 15 persons were diagnosed with Presbyopia
  • 11 people had Refractive Error
  • 5 people were Glaucoma suspects
  • 3 people were diagnosed with Immature Cataract
  • 5 were diagnosed with Allergic Conjunctivitis
  • 5 were diagnosed with Bilateral Cataract
  • 12 people were diagnosed with Refractive Error/Presbyopia
  • 6 people were Presbyopic/Glaucoma Suspect
  • 1 person was either diagnosed with Maculopathy, or Bilateral or Pterygium, or Iritis, or Amblyopia

14th to 19th May 2017

Rivers at 50 Outreach

Primary Health Centre, Rumuepirikom, Rivers State

The Rivers at 50 outreach was organized by Pro-Health International who partnered with Pro-Sight International to provide cataract surgery for 40 people and eye screening for 600 people.

580 people (372 Females and 208 Males) were screened and 56 surgeries done. Glasses and Drugs were distributed to beneficiaries as recommended by the doctors. Out of 580 screened:

  • 52 persons were diagnosed with Presbyopia
  • 76 people had Refractive Error
  • 20 people were diagnosed with Glaucoma
  • 6 people were diagnosed with Immature Cataract
  • 13 were diagnosed with Allergic Conjunctivitis
  • 19 people were diagnosed with Presbyopia/Allergic Conjunctivitis
  • 9 people had Refractive Error/Allergic Conjunctivitis
  • 6 people had Refractive Error/Glaucoma
  • 4 people had Glaucoma/Presbyopia
  • 2 people had Bilateral Cataract/Glaucoma
  • 1 person had Cataract/Refractive Error
